Twelve schools

A curriculum structured around the real responsibilities of public office, not academic disciplines. Every credentialed pathway also requires ten common-core courses.

  • Nationhood and Democratic Politics

How African states were formed, citizenship and belonging, federalism, parties as democratic institutions, and peaceful transfers of power.

  • National Direction and Continuity

Diagnosing a nation, choosing generational outcomes, linking plans to budgets, and protecting a roadmap across administrations.

  • Public Leadership and Judgement

Decision-making under uncertainty, cabinet selection, crisis leadership, and public communication without propaganda.

  • Institutions and Public Administration

How the state actually works: the civil service, machinery of government, records and handover, administrative law, digital government.

  • Public Money and Economic Statecraft

National accounts, taxation, budgets and audit, debt sustainability, procurement, industrial policy and resource revenue.

  • Negotiation and National Interest

Valuing what the country is giving away: resource licences, infrastructure finance, debt restructuring, technology and climate deals.

  • Delivery and Public Services

From cabinet decision to frontline service: delivery plans, monitoring, education, health, water, electricity, transport and safety.

  • Legislature and Oversight

Representation, lawmaking, budget scrutiny, committee hearings, appointments and treaties, and constituency service without patronage.

  • Peace, Security and Resilience

Civilian control of armed forces, conflict prevention, rights-respecting responses, election security and emergency powers.

  • African Development History

Causal reasoning rather than hero worship: precolonial systems, partition, independence, structural adjustment, democratisation, AfCFTA.

  • Ethical Exit and Legacy

Term limits and the duty to leave, succession without anointing, records, and measuring a legacy through institutions.

  • Emerging Governance

Short courses kept current: artificial intelligence, critical minerals, climate displacement, digital identity and platform power.

A country needs more than a manifesto

Learn how diverse people can define a shared civic future, agree long-term national outcomes, connect them to budgets and institutions, and preserve continuity without taking democratic choice away from future generations.

Know what the nation is giving and getting

Practise the decisions behind resource contracts, infrastructure finance, debt, technology, trade, climate agreements and diplomacy before the stakes are real.
