About Ogov
Mission and values
What Ogov is for, and the principles it will not trade away.
AdoptedUpdated
Ogov Africa exists to make high-quality, practical, Africa-centred public leadership education freely available to everyone who may shape public decisions: student and community leaders, candidates, party and campaign teams, legislators, mayors, governors, ministers, advisers, civil servants, opposition leaders, journalists and civil society.
Operating principles
- Citizens before officeholders
- State before party
- Constitution before personal power
- Evidence before slogans
- Outcomes before announcements
- Institutions before personalities
- African context before imported templates
- Inclusion without forced cultural uniformity
- Continuity with democratic revision
- Transparency about evidence, funding and uncertainty
State before party does not mean suppressing parties or disagreement. It means preserving the lawful institutions, public assets, professional civil service, official records and long-term interests that every administration inherits in trust.
