Complaints and appeals

Every decision Ogov makes about content, assessment, integrity or conduct can be challenged, and the person who made a decision does not hear the appeal against it.

Send complaints to hello@ogov.africa with enough detail to identify the decision. You will get an acknowledgement and a named route.

  • A published claim is wrong

Send the claim, the page and your evidence. Evidence review examines it, and if it stands the material is corrected with a new version and an entry in the corrections register. The original version stays resolvable.

  • A case treats a person or institution unfairly

Where a named person or institution faces material criticism, they are normally offered a right of reply before publication. If that did not happen, say so and the reply is published alongside the case.

    Methodology
  • An assessment decision seems wrong

Ask for the rubric and the assessor's reasoning first. If it still seems wrong, you may appeal, and the appeal is heard by assessors who did not make the original decision.

    How credentials work
  • An integrity finding is disputed

The panel that decided a misconduct case does not hear its appeal. Only confirmed serious misconduct affects a credential, and no similarity percentage is ever published about you.

    Academic integrity and appeals
  • A moderation decision seems wrong

Enforcement is graduated, and every enforcement decision can be appealed to a moderator who was not involved.

Assessment, integrity and moderation processes take effect when those features open. Today only the content routes apply.
